Radio Planting

Radio Planting

New radio station presentersWhile many mission organisations are involved in church-planting around the world, HCJB Global Voice is in the business of helping local groups reach out to their own communities via radio. In some places this means training radio producers who will use existing studios and stations; in others it means helping install an entire new station in a community, with all of the training, equipment and technical assistance needed.

Radio planting is one of our fastest-growing ministries, as new stations have been installed and people have been given training on every continent. Since 1990, more than 375 radio stations have been planted in more than 110 countries. All of this work is done in co-operation with over 215 local partners and the result has been the establishment of Christian radio ministries throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, the South Pacific and the Americas. The planted stations are locally run and independent of HCJB Global. Our role is simply to support and equip them as necessary.

Niger group by towerThis is a key part of our strategy to use local broadcasts wherever possible - helping people reach their neighbours with the good news in their own dialects and in ways relevant to their own culture.

Many radio stations give away our specially-designed, solar-powered radios to enable more people to hear their broadcasts.

Some of these partner stations are linked to local healthcare projects, showing the voice and hands of Jesus in action.

Read more about some of these stations.

Watch and listen to some of our radio partners talking about the impact that HCJB Global has had on their ministries.
