HCJB Global Emergency Response to Haiti

HCJB Global sent an emergency medical response team, led by Sheila Leech (International Healthcare Director), to Haiti within two days of the massive earthquake on 12th January.
The team also included two surgeons, an anaesthetist, a family physician and water engineer, Martin Harrison and was based at the Baptist Haiti Mission Hospital in Port-au-Prince.They worked with a team from Samaritan's Purse.
Located in the mountains outside Port Au Prince, the hospital is about 20 miles from the quake’s epicentre. Generators are supplying it and other facilities with electricity. The HCJB Global Hands team focused on medical help, shelter, clean water, and hygiene supplies.
The team arrived in Haiti on Friday 15th January and spent ten days working 12-hour shifts performing about 100 operations and securing a safe water supply for the hospital. They left Haiti on Monday 25th to return to their ministries in Ecuador, but further teams are being planned to help with rebuilding. You can continue to donate to HCJB Global's Haiti appeal.
